Biography
āāJulianne Applegate (she/her) is a 1996 graduate in apparel design. From the start her career, Julianne has paired fashion design and fashion technology to further innovations in the industry. She currently leads business development for SEDDI Inc and heads the quality team. Her first role after graduation was as product manager for the Fashion Studio suite of 2D textile CAD tools now sold by Nedgraphics. At this time she also developed the curriculum for and taught the first 2D CAD textile at Parsons School of Design. In her next role with LeSportac she progressed to leading as VP of design and development to include collaborations with DVF, Gwen Stefani and LAMB, Tokidoki, Stella McCartney and others. Since then she has founded two companies, designed the first bullet proof vest to fit female soldiers and police officers, and holds two patents for predictive/virtual fitting technologies. Her college experience included being honored as a Deanās Scholar, attending FITās one year program, a delightful work study appointment with the PTTP as wardrobe mistress and being honored with E-52ās best actress award for her performance senior year as Merteuil in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Julianneās professional passions include tackling industry size and fit challenges, 2D/3D fashion tech, sustainability, textile print design and made to measure. She lives in Amherst, MA, where she serves as co-chair of the Amherst Cultural Council.āāā
