Roelse conducts research on historic wedding dress | Roelse conducts research on historic wedding dress | | 3/11/2022 5:00:00 AM | |
āIn 1953, American couturier Ann Lowe designed the wedding dress for
future First Lady Jacqueline Bouvierās marriage to John F. Kennedy, a
dress that became one of the most recognizable and beloved wedding
dresses in America. As a Black designer, Lowe didnāt receive proper
credit for her work at the time. Katya Roelse,
instructor in fashion and apparel studies, and Winterthur textile
conservator Kate Sahmel recently visited the John F. Kennedy
Presidential Library and Museum in Boston together to examine and
document the construction of the original dress, which is too fragile to
display on a form. Working with University students, Roelse will use
the information gathered from this visit to create a reproduction of the
dress for the Winterthur exhibitionĀ Ann Lowe: American Couturier, opening September 2023.

| | Uncropped Vertical | | GP0|#6db99fdb-00c1-4351-83a6-46de89e19c2d;L0|#06db99fdb-00c1-4351-83a6-46de89e19c2d|Research;GTSet|#0a3b6244-764a-4413-b2f1-4b4c15da868c | 2022.00000000000 | https://publish.cas.udel.edu/Lists/ForTheRecord/DispForm.aspx?ID=163 | |

The WTO has reported that graduating from LDC status is an important milestone for a country, but the resulting loss of special international support measures can create new challenges for development and trade.ā
| | Uncropped Vertical | | GP0|#c38b0057-2b90-41e0-8099-c52275f2be5d;L0|#0c38b0057-2b90-41e0-8099-c52275f2be5d|Public Service;GTSet|#0a3b6244-764a-4413-b2f1-4b4c15da868c | 2021.00000000000 | https://publish.cas.udel.edu/Lists/ForTheRecord/DispForm.aspx?ID=83 | |
