Dallas Shaw to speak about her career, new book

Noted fashion illustrator Dallas Shaw will speak with students about her new book, The Way She Wears It, as well as her experiences, her style and her work at 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 10, in the Morris Library Lecture Room.
Shaw has worked as an artist, project designer and style ambassador
for clients including Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Ralph Lauren and many
others. Her book, subtitled āAn Insiderās Guide to Revealing Your
Personal Style,ā is organized around seasonal style challenges and
includes hundreds of photos and original drawings.
The book will be available for purchase at the event, and Shaw will
sign copies, answer questions and give advice to students. She will
speak about such topics as her insider tricks, expert layering hacks,
the secrets to print pairing, bold color choices and the power of
confidence.
The event is free and open to the public, but those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP at this link.
Shawās talk is sponsored by the Fashion Merchandising Club and is
geared toward anyone with an interest in fashion ā novices trying to
figure out a signature style, fashionistas who want to step up their
game or the most stylish presence in the room whoās looking to stay
ahead of the competition.
