Gracie Leung, Fashion Merchandising major, has spent the winter session working on the Good Journey team creating brand
campaigns, researching ethically sourced brands, and partnering with these
brands by inviting them to put products on our e-commerce platform. It has been a great learning experience for Gracie.
goodjourney.store - Good Journey exists to compel, educate, and celebrate
consumers and businesses to be stewards of their resources, envisioning a
compassionate materials economy from extraction to disposal. We strive to solve
the confusion and inconvenience that consumers face when attempting to shop
ethically. We do this through our editorial which gives consumers the
information they need to shop smarter, and our e-commerce platform which gives
consumers a place to shop ethically so they don't have to go through the
daunting process of finding ethical companies themselves.
Good Journey's most recent work has been focused on the
campaign called LOVE WIDER, which strives to educate consumers about Fair Trade
chocolate. From now until February 14th, when consumers buy 2 Fair Trade
chocolate bars through Good Journey, the company collectively gives 1 chocolate
bar to workers of all parts of the chocolate production. This is a small
gesture that tangibly represents loving not only those around us but also those
involved in the production of the product we get to enjoy.
The point of the campaign is to make known to consumers the
impact of Fair Trade, and how purchasing Fair Trade Certified products over
conventional ones results in empowering makers, producers, and communities
around the world to build thriving businesses that respect people and the
environment.
