Biography
āKevin Parker is a self-taught model turned stylist turned designer. It was while organizing his first fashion show for his womenās clothing brand, Teranchula, that Kevin discovered his passion for fashion production. This led to him co-founding Philly Fashion
Week (PFW) with his partner Kerry Scott in 2006. Their hope was by developing the
reputation of Philadelphiaās fashion industry they could not only improve the local economy with job and educational opportunities in fashion but also make Philadelphia and
the surrounding area a leader in the global fashion business.
Modeled after New York Fashion Week (whose creator Fern Mallis serves as an advisor
and frequent judge), PFW brings the world of fashion to Philadelphia. It has attracted
over 75 international brands and featured over 1,000 local and surrounding areas
designers to gain exposure and showcase their designs in front of buyers, stylists, the
press, and many industry leaders. Each year PFW reaches over 5,000 guests through
events, seminars, mixers and business workshops to highlight local independent
designers and retailers. All this has helped with local business growth.
PFWās success has captured both national and international press attention from such
outlets as O Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, WWD, Lucky Mag, The New Yorker, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly Mag as well as local broadcasts on Fox 29, NBC10, PHL 17,
6abc and Metro News.
In 2019, Parker and Scott launched a second company, PFW PR & Events, which is a
marketing and production firm. And this year, Parker founded the Philadelphia Fashion
& Garment Industry Task Force to help elevate and support designers and boutiques in
the city of Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
In addition to his production efforts, Parker is still an in-demand wardrobe stylist for
print, digital and celebrity photo shoots. His work can be seen in international publications such as Harperās Bazaar Vietnam, Esquire, Elle Mag, Fashiz-black Magazine, Gia
Magazine, and on projects such as Vietnam's Next Top Model, Couture Fashion Week
NYC, as well as segments on Fox 29 and PHL 17.
For his efforts to help Philadelphia and its fashion community, Parker has been honored
by the City Council in 2015 and was listed with his partner as one of the top 25 Fashion
Icons in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2012. ā
